para todo mal el mar...
para todo mal el mar...
This short film reflects on grief, distance, and the search for solace. Inspired by my friend’s mourning after losing a loved one to suicide, it explores how absence weighs heavier when home is far away. Amid displacement and loss, we turned to the ocean—a familiar landscape and a quiet refuge.
Rooted in the saying “para todo mal, el mar,” the sea becomes both a witness and a balm for grief’s shifting presence.
A figure appears and disappears throughout the film, an echo of memory, love, and the ways those we lose remain with us.
This project is a meditation on longing, remembrance, and the deep connection between place and healing—an offering of tenderness in honor of the complexities of loss.
